Concordance Desktop Software Speeds Up eDiscovery Review -

Most of the discussion regarding the burdens of eDiscovery in litigation tends to be associated with large-scale cases that require the production of millions of documents. But the reality is that approximately 80 percent of all litigated cases in the U.S. involve fewer than 1 million documents.

This is the sweet spot for which LexisNexis created its Concordance Desktop discovery management software, which was introduced to the legal marketplace earlier this year. The product helps litigation teams take control of the eDiscovery workflow and manage the review process faster and more accurately – right from their desktops.

Today, the company rolled out an enhanced version of Concordance Desktop, with new data import capabilities that enable customers to save time by speeding up the eDiscovery review process.

The new release of Concordance Desktop was built around the creation of two new key features:

  1. Import load files without processing
The new built-in capability in Concordance Desktop to ingest load files without advanced processing means that Concordance Desktop users can more quickly import their data and speed up the time required to get those files into the eDiscovery database. In the past, load files would need to be processed and images within those files would need to be rendered before the files could be imported into Concordance Desktop.
  1. Integration with LAW PreDiscovery
The direct integration of Concordance Desktop with the LAW PreDiscovery eDiscovery software application means that LAW users can now seamlessly create a Concordance Desktop database with just a few mouse clicks. LAW PreDiscovery software is an “eDiscovery engine” that can scan, import and produce all of the potential evidentiary documents needed during eDiscovery.

“These new features give our customers the ability to feed data into the Concordance Desktop engine even faster than before, giving litigators and their staff members more immediate access to eDiscovery documents so they can begin the review workflow,” said Steve Ashbacher, vice president of litigation solutions with the LexisNexis software and technology business. “This translates into significant time savings, which means reduced eDiscovery expenses and quicker insights into the evidence in a case.”
