Brewing eDiscovery 9+ Legal Tech Events for January 2016

Something is brewing in eDiscovery.

Among the list of events below (#6) will provide a preview of what is coming in the new LexisNexis® Concordance® Desktop eDiscovery product.  And #7 hints at the beginning of the “sea of change” stemming from our Raleigh Technology Center for litigation solutions in the next 12 months.

Below is our monthly legal tech roundup, including two conferences to be held this spring: one focused on large law business development and the other centering on corporate legal departments.  As always, we may add a couple more events to this list during the month, so be sure to check back.

1. Corporate Counsel: Bridging the Gap Between In-house Counsel and Law Firms

Metrics strengthen relationships between inside and outside counsel. This webinar will provide a framework to understand metrics that drive better outcomes and value.

2. Solo and Small Law Feature Friday: Emailing Bills in PCLaw®

Enhancements in recent releases of the LexisNexis PCLaw application have made sending bills by email easier and more efficient. Learn how to configure email templates, set preferences for clients/matters and work with the Invoice Email Queue to get your bills out faster, so you can get paid faster.

3. Financial Management Feature Friday: Juris® and IRS Reporting on Form 1099

What are 1099’s? Who gets them? How do I create them? What box do I use? To whom and where do I send them? When are they due? These are questions often asked at year-end by Firm Administrators, Firm Accountants & Bookkeepers and are a frequent source of frustration. This webinar will demonstrate what you need to know about preparing 1099’s and meeting the critical deadlines related to them.

 4. Billable Hours Feature Friday: Capture Every Billable Hour with Chrometa

During this webinar, you will learn about Chrometa, the first LexisNexis Gateway partner for passive time capture. Chrometa helps firms capture more billable time spent on email, online research, phone calls and more—automatically and without the need to use timers! Chrometa can help increase billable time by 20% or more while simultaneously decreasing hours worked. There will also be a live demo showing how Chrometa works within the Time Matters software, followed by a Q&A period.

5. Litigation Case Analysis:  The CaseMap® DocManager

In this webinar, you will learn about the LexisNexis CaseMap DocManager features. These tools allow you to review and annotate documents and images without having to open the source file in its native application. Plus you’ll learn about the new redaction, production and light review features that streamline the document review process, making your document review process easier and more efficient than ever.

6. Small and Mid-Law eDiscovery: Concordance® Desktop Overview

Attendees will learn about the new features of our upcoming Concordance software release, as well as best practices for using this tool in your organization. The product is an electronic discovery, litigation document management, and litigation support tool.

7. Corporate and Large Law eDiscovery: Something BIG is Brewing

Speed, efficiency, smarter analytics and cost predictability. That’s what eDiscovery professionals say they need, and the tools that can provide the right blend of those four primary capabilities help achieve better outcomes with less effort. In this special sneak peek, we will share with you a new vision for what eDiscovery will become in this new era of deep data and non-linear workflows. We are re-imagining analytics to be the centerpiece of eDiscovery rather than being an add-on.
